Laurens County Speedway has been family owned and operated for over 30 years. Fred Cogsdill and his family ran the track for 30 years then in 2010 Dennis Nabors and his family began promoting the track. The Nabors family runs the track as a family with the goal to provide entertainment for families to enjoy every Saturday from April until October.
Laurens Speedway is one of the only tracks in South Carolina who runs Super Late Models every Saturday. In 2011 the Late Models put on a great show every Saturday Night. There was a variety of winners throughout the season but Mike Measamer prevailed with a late season charge and won the championship. Other divisions also had tight racing every Saturday, the Super Stock 4 Cylendars and the Hobbie division points champions were not determined until the last race. Dusty Eaves pulled out the championship for the Hobbies and J.R. Baker for the Super Stock 4 Cylendars. Brad Rachels took an early lead in the season for the Limited Late Models and held on to it for the championship. The Dwarf Division also had alot of tight racing with Issaac Lothridge taking the championship at the last race.
This year we also look forward to great racing every Saturday Night. We will be adding a new division for front wheel drive cars. We want to provide an economical divison to attrack more drivers.
