2007 VINTAGE DWARF CAR ASSOCIATION RULES

BODY REQUIREMENTS

1.Replica of 1928 to 1948 production american made coupe, sedan or pickup truck approx. 5/8 scale. No convertibles or open tops allowed.

2.Bodies must be metal or aluminum only. No fiberglass. Must have full firewalls front and rear .050 min. thickness.

3.Body must remain to scale. Windows and doors must be to scale. Both doors must be operational and allow passage.

4.Roof slope 10 degrees + - 1 degree max. Doors must have supports welded to inside of front and rear door post to prevent being pushed in on impact.

5.All doors must have positive locking device.

6.No glass nor lexan side windows nor windshields allowed.

7.No wings nor spoilers allowed.

8.Short nerf bars required, long nerf bars optional. Can not be wider than rear tires.

9. Front bumper min. 24 inches, 30 inches max. width. 7 inches high min. Rear bumper min. 48 inches, 50 inches max. width. 7 inches high min. Body max. width 38 inches (1939), 36 inches (1938). Height max. 38 inches.

ABSOLUTELY NO MODIFIED LITES

FRAME AND ROLLCAGE REQUIREMENTS

10.The 1 X 2 X .120 rectangular tubing frame rails will extend from the extreme front of the car meaning at least even with the grille to the extreme rear of the car meaning at least 2 inches behind the last portion of the body or trunk. These frame rails will be placed with the two inch side vertically and the one inch side horizontally for their entire length. Right and Left frame rails may be cut out and dropped a max. of two inches under the rear axle to provide vertical clearance for the rear axle. this cutout must be no longer than necessary to provide clearance. This cutout will not violate the rules governing the height of the body or the overall height of the car. The same frame rails may also be looped up and over the rear axle but must conform with the overall length and size requirements. No round, oval or square tubing in lower side main framerails.

There will be a min. of three cross members in the manned compartment; one at the forward end, one at the rear, and one near center. The cross members will be made of steel only, with a min. thickness of .120". Can be round, square, oval, or angle; no aluminum.

Rollcage will be 1" or 1 1/2" mild steel tubing of .065" thickness, rear door post 1" X 2" X .120" rectangular tubing. Perimeter roll cage tubing (from top of windshield post to rear frame rail on both sides) must be a min. of 1 1/4" diameter steel tubing with a .065" wall. Both doors must have 2 bar min. through mid section of door .065" X 750 o.d. min. (driver safety is foremost here.)

SUSPENSION

11.Spindles, hubs, rotors must be made of steel, No aluminum. Stock rotors only.

12.No straight axles, no independent rear suspension. No torque links, no biscuit rods. SOLID MOUNT ONLY.

13.No quick change rear, no floater, no titanium axles.

SHOCKS

14.Max. shock cost $80.00 each. NO ADJUSTABLE SHOCKS.

15.Coil over suspension only. NO 5th COIL OVERS. One shock per wheel. 4 shocks per car max.

ENGINES

16.Four cycle four cylinder motorcycle engine only. Size limit 1250cc max.

17.No fuel injected motors over 750cc. Carburators only. No blowers or turbos. No stroker motors, or destroked motors. 750 engine must use stock ignition.

18.All engines front mounted in stock location.

19.Mufflers mandatory. Must comply with local noise decibel levels. NO TOLERANCE.

FUEL

20.Pump gasoline only, no additives, no nitros oxide, no methanol. Fuel will be checked by hydrometer or known stock sample. (Pump racing gas OK. Sunoco, Union76 VP racing fuel, ect.)

21.Approved fuel tank only. 5 gallon max.

WHEELBASE22.4 wheel brakes, disc or drum. Must work on all wheels.

23.Wheelbase 72" + - 1" max. Tire track width 63" max.

24.No altered wheelbase (Nosetback chasis).

SEAT BELTS

25.Aluminum or steel seat required. No fiberglass seats. 5 point harness no more than 3 years old max.

TIRES AND RIMS

26.Steel only 13" diameter X 7" max. width. Any offset allowed. Beadlock rims are legal and recommended.

27.Spec. street tire only (Sigma supreme t.r. 205-60-13). Tire must read a min. of 55 on durometer at any time.

28.No grooving of tires allowed, tire prep will be allowed.

WEIGHT

1260 lbs. with driver.

29.Min. age of driver is 16 years old.

30.Top 5 cars must tech. after main event.

31.Approved safety equipment only (helmet, firesuit, gloves and neck brace). NECK BRACE MANDATORY.

32.No radios allowed, except for track line-up radio.

33.Mirrors are optional but recommended.

34.Year and make of car must be displayed in 1" letters min. (example: 34 FORD).

DRIVER CONDUCT

35.Drivers will be responsible for all crew and guest's actions.

36.Rough driving drivers will be warned 1 time, if it continues, the driver will be suspended for 3 races.

37.Any driver found under influence of drugs or alcohol will be suspended for 1 calendar year, second offence will result in life time ban from competition.

38.Illegal car- loss of money and points for that race.

39.If car is caught with illegal part (torque link, etc.) suspension will be according to severity of infraction.

SPIRIT AND INTENT

These rules are subject to the term "Spirit and Intent" and apply to the technical aspects of the car, as well as drivers and crew members. If you are the type person to look for "loopholes" or "read between the lines" in order to bypass the intent of the rule, this is not the class for you.

THIS CLASS IS INTENDED TO BE FUN, AFFORDABLE, AND COMPETITIVE WITHOUT "BREAKING THE BANK".
